Dead River Falls - Marquette, MI

Dead River falls is an amazing set of waterfalls located in Marquette County.

When the water is flowing and the heat is turned up, the Dead River Falls hike is one of Michigan’s best.

With incredible scenery and multiple levels of waterfalls, Dead River Falls has it all.

Laughing Whitefish Falls

Michigan Waterfalls: Laughing Whitefish Falls
Laughing Whitefish Falls Long Exposure

Laughing Whitefish is one of my favorites in Michigan because it’s easy to access and has amazing water flow.

The only thing that will turn people away is the abundance of bugs on hot humid days.

One of my worst memories to date was my first time here and the assault on my body because of my lack of preparation on bug mitigation.

Canyon Falls - The Upper Peninsula's Grand Canyon

Michigan Waterfalls
Canyon Falls aka the Grand Canyon of the UP

Canyon Falls aka the Grand Canyon of Michigan is an Upper Peninsula hidden gem.

Now this has no sizable comparison to the Grand Canyon but for Michigan standards, this is an amazing gorge to visit.

Most people skip this one because its secluded and not as widely known as other Michigan tourist attractions.

If you visit any waterfall in the UP, make it this one.

Roughly one hour west of Marquette

Pictured Rocks Area Waterfalls

Chapel Falls/Chapel Beach Falls

Chapel Falls at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

Chapel Falls is nowhere near amazing as Tahquamenon Falls but neither are any other ones.

What makes Chapel Falls list-worthy is the scenery that surrounds it.

Tucked away in the Pictured Rock National Seashore, Chapel Falls is a part of one of Michigan’s best hikes, Chapel Loop.

Add 2 different viewing platforms for this waterfall and it’s surely a winner.

If you are making the entire hike to Chapel Beach, you will see Chapel Beach Falls which empties onto the shores of Lake Superior.

Tannery Falls

This waterfall is hidden right in the middle of a neighborhood in Munising.

Very easy to get too, this one has some stunning geology as you make your way down into it’s canyon

Spray Falls

Spray Falls is best enjoyed by boat but is also an unbelievable sight to see when hiking to as well.

Not for the faint hearted as a one way hike to view this is 2.5 miles from Little Beaver Lake Campground.

Although this isn’t one of the best waterfalls of Upper Michigan, the hike and waterfall combo are nothing short of amazing!

Miners Falls

Miners Falls is a very easy Pictured Rocks Hike to enjoy.

Follow a very mild and mellow path for about 2 miles round trip to enjoy this beauty in all seasons

Sable Falls

Sable Falls is the farthest waterfall on the eastern side of Pictured Rocks lakeshore.
