The 2022 Noquemanon Ski Marathon is right around the corner for all of you cross-country skiers and fans. The “Noque” will take place this year on January 21st-22nd in Marquette, MI.

With a rich history of cross-country skiing in Marquette and the Upper Peninsula, the Noque draws in major local, regional, and global cross-country skiers yearly.

The 2022 Noque will offer 9 races to participants but the classics are the 50K and the 24K.

  • 50K Freestyle
  • 50K Classic Touring Race – Meant for racers who want to enjoy a casual 50k race experience than a competitive one.
  • 50K Team Relay
  • 24K Half Noque
  • 15K Snowshoe
  • Noque 12K
  • Junior Noque

Friday, January 21st, 2022:  

Junior Noque 5K Classic (Al Quaal Recreation Area, Ishpeming) – 4:00pm
Junior Noque 3K Classic (Al Quaal Recreation Area, Ishpeming) – 4:30pm
Junior Noque 1K Classic (Al Quaal Recreation Area, Ishpeming) – 5:00pm

Packet Pickup/ski expo: 5:00pm-10:00pm at NMU Superior Dome

8:10 am: 50K Classic Touring
9:00 am: 50K Classic Elite Wave 1
9:10 am: 50K Classic Wave 2  (Includes Relay skiers)
9:30 am: 3K and 1K Adaptive Ski
9:50 am: 12K Classic (Men and Women)
9:55 am: 50K Freestyle Elite Wave 1
10:00 am: 50K Freestyle Wave 2
10:10 am: 12K Freestyle (Men and Women)

10:10 am: 50K Freestyle Wave 3
11:45 am: 24K Classic Wave 1
11:55 am: 24K Classic Wave 2
12:05 pm: 24K Classic Wave 3
12:15 pm: 24K Classic Wave 4
12:30 pm: 24K Freestyle Wave 1

Something that you might notice or be curious about is the presence of Blackrocks Brewery 51K IPA. The name is attributed to finishing the race with a final 1 mile push to the brewery to grab a pint. Hence the name 51K!
