Oakland Drone Photography: The Town from Above
Oakland, California. “The Town” is home to some tremendous scenery that has long been overshadowed by its sister city, San Francisco. Here is an aerial tour of my Oakland Drone Photography gallery of one of my favorite places in the Bay.
What Drone do I capture these shots with?
Below are some shots I was able to capture with my DJI Mavic Pro. If you are in the market for a drone, I highly recommend this drone to every and anyone. Lightweight, portable, durable, and excellent image quality. If you can’t afford this model, DJI makes other cheaper and still very effective models.
When is the Best Time to fly a Drone in Oakland?
It’s all based on perspective and style. For me and many others, about one hour or so before sunrise/sunset aka the golden hour, is the best time. The light isn’t too strong too overexpose your images, and some pleasing colors really start to shine in those time zones. Midday can be dull but it’s all based on your schedule and availability.
Why should you visit Oakland?
Oakland is an energetic city of culture, food, and events. The city is great for any local or distant traveler as activities are diverse and food and drink options are abundant. Because it’s past has been rough, only the negative has been highlighted. Don’t sleep on Oakland.
