Taos is New Mexico’s premier ski resort and also one of the best ski resorts in North America.

Ski Santa Fe

Ski Santa Fe is an amazing New Mexico ski resort tucked away in the hills of Santa Fe. 

Locals love this ski area for the fact that it’s only 30 minutes away from the heart of Santa Fe!

Uphill Travel is allowed at Ski Santa Fe and is an excellent mountain to learn or continue developing your skinning/bootpacking!

Ski Santa Fe is not apart of any pass program as they operate as an independent ski area.

Pajarito Mountain Ski Area

Pajarito Mountain Ski Area is a ski area located just northwest of Los Alamos, NM. 

The ski area is only about a 15-minute drive from the heart of Los Alamos and provides visitors with a number of short but very steep runs. 

Pajarito Mountain Ski Area is apart of the Power Pass which is easily the best ski season pass to have if you live in the New Mexico/Southwest area! 

Uphill access at Pajarito is fully welcomed except on Townsight when the lift is running! Remember that uphill travel should be as close to the treeline as possible!

Red River Ski Area

Red River Ski Area is a northern New Mexico ski area known for it’s charming town and quality skiing. 

As delightful as the warmer months are in Red River, the real charm comes when the white landscape drapes the quaint city! 

Red River was recently awarded a ranking for Top 10 Ski Town in the USA.

Angel Fire Ski Resort

Angel Fire Ski Resort is another northern New Mexico ski area that is just south of Red River by about 35 minutes. 

Largely known for it’s incredible Summer Bike Park, Angel Fire is another New Mexico Ski Resort to keep on your radar, especially after a good snowfall.

Angel Fire is an awesome New Mexico Ski Resort to ski especially if you are doing a road trip in New Mexico. 

For those who want to combine multiple resorts into one trip, consider night skiing at Angel Fire! Yes, night skiing!

Angel Fire is the only ski resort in New Mexico that offers night skiing from 4-7pm! $35 for adults or $25 additional dollars on top of your day ticket!

Pair this place with Taos/Red River and your trip will be unforgettable.

Sipapu Ski Resort

Sipapu is a northern New Mexico ski area situated about 1:30 away from Santa Fe. 

Historically, Sipapu is the first of New Mexico’s ski resorts to open and is an amazing option for families.

Sandia Peak

Welcome back Sandia Peak to the 2023-2024 season! 

We are excited to see this resort operational after a 2022-2023 closure! 

This is the closest ski area to Albuquerque and offers some of the best views in the entire state of New Mexico!
